What's the difference between baby shampoo and kids shampoo?
23 September 2023

When your kids get older, their hair changes. From soft and fine to a wild hairdo full of knots. It makes sense to use a different shampoo then, right? A mild babyshampoo that takes good care of the scalp is what you want for your baby. For your kids? Once the hair gets a life of its own, you might want to switch to a shampoo that is specifically made for this. But what are the differences between baby and kids shampoo? No worries, we'll explain!
Baby shampoo is aimed purely at mild care. It often has a gentle fragrance, and you really only need to use a tiny amount. Look for a baby shampoo without SLS, mineral oils and microplastics. Ours is made with natural ingredients and you'll recognise it by the iconic Naïf scent.
As the kids get older, their hair changes; it gets thicker, longer and coarser. And the little adventurers' hair also tends to get tangled faster from all that playing around. In addition, they enter a phase where they like to put their 'I' out into the world and like to 'do things themselves'. This means they develop a preference - for what they see, smell or wear. For example, scent becomes more important. Our brand-new children's line of hair care not only looks spick and span, both the shampoo and conditioner smell amazing. Think lime and blackcurrant, nice and fresh-sweet. In fact, it was developed with our very own 'kids jury', who advised us on all things packaging and scent. A treat, then, for all the big kids.
Sure, this range (did we mention that it also includes a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner?) is focused on care, but the anti-tangle formula (sunflower and linseed oil!) and slightly more nourishment (cottonseed and wheat protein) give the variants just a bit more cachet compared to the baby shampoo.
