Skincare during the winter months, how does Mirthe Buurman do it?
20 November 2024
Maybe you’ve noticed your skin feels tight or your kids’ skin has some dry spots: the colder months have started! Every season has its challenges and that means: tweaking your routine. In our series ‘how do they do it?’ we talk with parents about relatable moments with kids. This time we asked Dutch influencer Mirthe Buurman how does your skincare routine change in the winter?
What skin changes do you notice in yourself/kids during winter versus summer?
Sem and I both have very dry skin during the winter months. So I pay even more attention to hydrating the skin and start moisturizing before it gets dry. Luckily, Bo does not suffer as much from dry skin, so he doesn’t need as many changes in his routine.
What does your skincare routine entail?
The boys enjoy bath time a few times a week, and afterwards I apply Naïf body lotion to their skin. Every day they also shower with the shower gel. For Bo, I use zinc cream, which helps to retain moisture and helps with diaper rash.
How do you change your routine in the winter?
We don’t apply sunscreen anymore because it’s (unfortunately) not necessary anymore. But I do use more creams and lotions for dry spots on our skin!
What products are your favorite to use in winter?
The baby wipes are still a favorite for Bo, we really enjoy them and always use them! I also like using the 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner and shampoo & wash gel. I’ve started using Naïf shampoo on my own hair and it works like a charm. I’ve noticed my hair gets less greasy, which is really nice.
What tips do you have for other parents to keep their kids’ skin nourished this winter?
My advice is: start moisturizing in time, sooner rather than later. When the kids have taken a bath, use a nourishing cream to prevent dry spots. And of course I always use Naïf!
